Achyranthes mutica (Amaranthaceae)

Achyranthes mutica is a member of the amaranth family (Amaranthaceae), and is a many-branched shrub, with stems 30-60 cm long. Flowers are arranged on spikes.  This species is endemic to Hawaii (Kauai and the Big Island).
