Gardner, D. E. . Unpublished: Stromataneurospora phoenix associated with broomsedge (Angropogon virginicus). Unpublished

ABSTRACT
Following a controlled burn in broomsedge stands of HAVO, I noted the frequent appearance of a pink fungus on burned stalks. The fungus was identified as Stromataneurospora phoenix, a xylariacious species associated with recently burned over grasslands. This observation was a new record for Hawaii, although the fungus appeared not to have value as a biocontrol agent for this widespread alien invasive grass.
