Gardner, D. E. . Unpublished: Dark mildews of Hawaii. Unpublished

ABSTRACT
as distinct from sooty molds with which they are often confused, occur on several native hosts in wet forest habitats. These are mostly superficial fungi, although they are parasitic, and are thought to be species specific. Thus, the fungus occurring on each host is a distinct species. The dark mildews of Hawaii have been well documented by Dr. Roger Goos.
