ABSTRACT
Cliff Smith observed disease like abnormalities, including leaf stunting and yellowing of kukui at Pu`u Honua o Honaunau NHP and brought it to my attention. The symptoms suggest infection by a submicroscopic pathogen (i.e., virus or phytoplasma), but because the incidence appeared to be isolated I didn't pursue it further. It is documented here, however, in the event that the condition becomes more widespread. Healthy growth is compared with symptomatic branches.
