Gardner, D. E. . Unpublished: Diseased endemic poppy (Argemone glauca) from HALE Unpublished

ABSTRACT
Patty Welton of HALE's resource management division brought to my attention an abnormally deformed endemic poppy. She reported that the diseased plant appeared to be an isolated case. I examined and photographed the plant but could find no apparent cause for the symptoms. The symptoms suggested the effects of feeding toxins of eriophyid mites, but I could find no mites on the tissue. The disease is reported here as an initial observation in the event that similar cases are found and it becomes a significant disease in the future.
