Gardner, D. E. . Unpublished: Diseases of ornamental plants. Mississippi NPS Science Center. Unpublished

ABSTRACT
In response to a request from horticulturists at National Capital Parks; Washington, D.C.; I collaborated with Dr. Jay Gogue in characterizing common diseases of ornamentals. Among these was "black lesion of Poinsettia" caused by the fungus Thielaviopsis basicola. Gogue authored a number of brief, semi-popular articles on the diseases studied, but the studies produced little original information, thus were not adequate for formal publication in a plant pathological journal.
