Habit: shrub
Description: "A shrub, sometimes scandent, to 3-4 m high. Leaves 7-9-foliate, long-petiolate, leaflets petiolulate, coriaceous, about 9 cm long and 4 cm broad, obtuse to acute, sometimes emarginate, the base obtuse, the margins entire, glabrous, the lateral veins of 5-6 pairs; petiolules 2-4 mm long; petioles slender, 12-15 cm long. Inflorescence a terminal panicle, glabrescent, about 20 cm long, the flowers in racemosely arranged umbels, 0.7-1 cm across, 5-10 flowered; pedicels 5-8 mm long. Fruit ovoid, glandular-punctate when young, about 5 mm long and 4 mm broad, 5-angular, the disc conical, about the length of the fruit" (Li et al., 1963; pp. 670-671).
Habitat/ecology: In Taiwan, "in forests from low to high altitudes throughout the island" (Li et al., 1963; pp. 670-671).
Propagation: Bird-dispersed fruits.
Native range: China and Taiwan (GRIN).
