Description: "A tree with leathery-textured, obovate leaves with notched apexes; flower petals with deeply fringed appendages; and yellow-orange, flattened-globose fruit 1.25-2 inches in diameter on pedicels 2.5-4 inches long, containing mild, edible pulp and 3-5 seeds (Staples & Herbst, 2005; p. 520).
