Habit: vine
Description: "Glabrous, many-branched perennial vines; stems slender, glabrous except sparsely tomentose toward base. Leaves hastate to sagittate, blades 0.5-3 cm long, 0.4-3.5 cm wide, glabrous, margins entire, petioles 0.5-3.3 cm long. Peduncles 12-47 mm long, glabrous; corolla red, pink, or violet, spotted and streaked with yellow, white, or violet, incompletely closed by the inflated palate, sparsely puberulent or villous, the tube 13-17 mm long, the lobes 4-8 mm long, the lower 3 projecting forward initially, gradually recurving; style 10-13 mm long. Capsules globose, symmetrical, 0.8-1 cm long, the cells markedly unequal, the larger one dehiscing much earlier than smaller one" (Wagner et al., 1999; pp. 1244-1245).
