Habit:  herb

Description:  "Freely branching, pubescent annual herbs 2-7 dm tall; stems pubescent with usually fairly coarse and spreading hairs.  Leaves ovate to broadly ovate, 2.5-7 cm long, 1.5-5 cm wide, margins usually coarsely serrate or toothed.  Heads 3-4 mm high, peduncles spreading glandular villous; involucral bracts 2-3.3 mm long; ray florets (3) 5 (6) per head, rays white, rarely pink, 3-toothed, 1-2 mm long; pappus of ray florets consisting of short, fimbriate scales, that of disk florets consisting of awn-tipped, fimbriate scales.  Achenes pubescent with appressed or spreading hairs" (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 320).

Habitat/ecology:  In Hawai‘i, "relatively uncommon in low elevation, disturbed habitats, particularly urban areas and along roadsides" (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 320).
