Description:  "Small or medium tree; spines slender, flexible; leaves acute at tip, rounded at base; petioles narrowly winged, articulated both to the blade and to the stem; flowers 5-parted; stamens 20-25; ovary 10-13-celled; fruit subspherical, with firmly adherent peel, orange, the segments orange, sweet; seeds usually polyembryonic" (Stone, 1970; p. 353).
