Habit:  herb

Description:  "Small annual prostrate herb, hispid, branches with opposite obliquely oblong obtuse crenulate leaves, glabrous or puberulent, coppery, about the size of leaves of [C]. prostrata; stipules elongate fimbriate; inflorescences minute axillary compound pubescent; cyathial gland small or none; capsule shortly stalked, seeds 4-angled, blunt, with 5 or 6 shallow transverse furrows.  Very similar to [C]. prostrata"  (Stone, 1970; p. 377).

Habitat/ecology:  In Hawai‘i, "sparingly naturalized in low elevation, dry, disturbed sites" (Wagner et al., 1999; pp. 615, 617, 1875).  In New Guinea, "a weed of nursery and garden beds, paths and house-yards. From low altitudes to almost 2000 m" (Henty & Pritchard, 1975; p. 101). "Occasional in sunny disturbed places" (Whistler, 1988; p. 18).
