Comments: Invasive on Tahiti and in Samoa.
Invasive and widespread on Rarotonga and Mangaia, Cook Islands (Space & Flynn, 2002).
Very prevalent on Eua, Tonga, in disturbed areas (Space & Flynn, 2001).
Initially became widespread on Guam, but now more of a localized problem, possibly indicating local limiting factors (Margie Falanruw, pers. com.)
Control:
Chemical: Katie Cassel (Kōkee Museum) reports good control with triclopyr ester at 20% in crop oil applied basal bark. Probably sensitive to foliar applications of triclopyr" (Motooka et al., 2003).
