Comments:  An introduced invasive in the Galápagos Islands. Occurs only inland, not on the seacoast as would be expected (Alan Tye, pers. com.).

Native to the rest of the Pacific, but should not be introduced where not already present. Where present, makes travel difficult due to its spines.

Additional information:
Additional online information about Caesalpinia bonduc is available from the Hawaiian Ecosystems at Risk project (HEAR).

Information about Caesalpinia bonduc as a weed (worldwide references) may be available from the Global Compendium of Weeds (GCW).

Taxonomic information about Caesalpinia bonduc may be available from the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN).
