Thunbergia alata
A herbaceous, hairy creeper reaching up to 4m tall. Leaves lobed at the base, broadly ovate, margins entire or toothed. A species of forest margins from the Eastern Cape, South Africa to East Africa. Widely cultivated and a number of garden forms are available. Flowers bright orange, with a deep blackish purple centre. ~ 30 mm wide with a tube ~ 20 mm long. Blooms throughout the year.
