Coix lacryma-jobi

Cultivated in rural areas to obtain the swollen, shiny beads (false fruit) within the flower heads; these are commonly used to make necklaces. Beads almost globose, long, smooth and glossy, usually pearl or dark grey, but vary from white to black; 8 - 10 mm in diameter.
