The "Mystery Plant" website is a product of the Hawaiian Ecosystems at Risk (HEAR) Project

Mystery plant #3 submitted by: Philip Thomas & Lloyd Loope
This specimen was collected by Philip Thomas & Lloyd Loope on 29 December 1998 at Hamoa Beach (and one other site) in Hana, Hawaii (island of Maui, USA). It's viney & climbing all over the ground, up trees, etc.
It's also since been reported from "Peahi, Haiku" on Maui (Kim Martz), and on Oahu by Clifford W. Smith, Coleen Cory, and Philip Thomas. I'd be surprised if we don't begin to find it elsewhere now that our awareness of it has been raised.
