The "island matrix" cross-references by Hawaiian island and species, containing expert opinions regarding the ISLANDWIDE controllability of selected alien plant species by island. The information provided in the matrix is currently based on "opinion by committee"--but we have solicited specific, citeable opinions from individuals with expert knowledge on each island for each selected species

NOTE: This information was generated in 1997, and is now quite old. Much of this information may have changed (or have been later found to be inaccurate). Please refer to more recent data sources for more current information. You may contact HEAR (webmaster@hear.org) with specific inquiries.

(This version is the only one which currently includes information RE: whether the presence/absence info implied by the matrix data has been cross-checked against HEAR's standard references for existence of herbarium specimen-based published presence/absence citations; however, the info in this version has NOT been double-checked by citeable experts.
