The Hawaiian Ecosystems at Risk project (HEAR) presents information about selected invertebrate species that are not native to Hawaii or are not native to other Pacific islands. (Note that some species included may be native to some parts of this region, but not to other parts.)
Common names: Currently, species are listed on this page only with scientific names. Scientific names--although they do change occasionally--are the most reliable way to refer to species of organisms. You may search the ITIS database for common names to determine the scientific name of an animal. If this does not provide the information you need, you may also search the web for the name. You may also search the HEAR website by common name.
