Description: Colonial, floating freshwater fern with 1/4-1.5" round or elliptic, hairy surface leaves and root-like submerged leaves.
Risk areas: Lakes, ponds, ditches, canals, marshes, and slow-moving streams.
WARNING:One of the two worst aquatic weeds in the world. Colonies develop in such numbers by vegetative spread that still waters can be covered with a continuous carpet of plants.
