Description: Densely branching tree up to 12' tall, with 1-2" narrow leaves, 1-2" thorns, 1/2" white flowers, and conspicuous 1/4" orange or red berries.
Risk areas: Moist and wet forests and open areas, 3000-5000 ft. elevation.
WARNING:All species in this genus produce numerous fruits attractive to birds and should not be planted. P. crenatoserrata and P. koidzumii are similar in appearance to P. angustifolia and have been widely planted and/or naturalized within Hawaii.
