Description: | Small tree up to 20' tall, with 1.5-5" dark, aromatic leaves, smooth mottled bark, 1/2" white flowers, and 1" red or yellow fruits filled with hard seeds. |
Risk areas: | Moist and wet forests and open areas, from sea level to 4000 ft. elevation. |
WARNING: | Strawberry guava and yellow guava are among the worst pest plants in Hawaii and on other tropical islands. Close relatives could likely become a problem too, if planted. |
