Other names:Pimenta officinalis
Description: Tree to 60' tall, with mottled grayish-tan bark, 2-7" opposite oblong-elliptic to lance-shaped leaves, aromatic when crushed; 1/4" fragrant white flowers with 4 petals; and 1/5" dry, globose fruits.
Risk areas: Dry and moist forests and open areas, up to 3000 ft. elevation.
WARNING:Birds eat the dry berries and disperse the seeds.
