Description: Tufted perennial grass up to 3 ft. tall, with wiry leaves and pink to purple flower heads up to 1' long.
Risk areas: Dry forest, roadsides, grasslands, lava fields.
WARNING:Related species of Pennisetum have proven invasive elsewhere and should probably be avoided too.
