Description: Free-floating herb with basal rosette of leathery 2-6" leaves having swollen, inflated bases and an erect stalk of 1.5" lavender flowers.
Risk areas: Freshwater lakes, ponds, marshes, ditches, canals, slow-moving streams.
WARNING:One of the two worst aquatic weeds in the world. Colonies develop in such numbers by vegetative spread that still waters can be covered with a continuous carpet of plants.
