Following is a list of selected publications relevant to alien species in Hawaii. The list is (obviously) incomplete; at this point (Aug. 1997), no effort has been made to create a list of even the most important references. This list is online as part of an infrastructure that can be built on in the future. With this in mind, please send suggestions for publications to include to the Hawaiian Ecosystems at Risk (HEAR) project. (We are particularly interested in those publications which are available online, but the list does not exclude non-online citations.)
- Harmful Non-Indigenous Species (HNIS) Reports - each report in this series highlights a particular (potentially or known) invasive species, and provides general information about this species, as well as control information, as well as Hawaii-specific information. These reports were written by various experts at the invitation the Hawaiian Ecosystems at Risk (HEAR) Project.
- The Brazilian Pepper Management Plan for Florida (July 1997; Amy Ferriter, ed.; Brazilian Pepper Task Force of the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council) contains information on control of Brazilian pepper (Schinus terebinthifolius) in Florida, including specific herbicide recommendations. This report is now available from the South Florida Water Management District, 3301 Gun Club Road, P.O. Box 24680, West Palm Beach, FL 33416-4680.
- Management of invasive exotic plants with herbicides in Florida (Kline &Duquesnel) is now available online on the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council website.
