Volunteers needed to help clean Kalihi Stream
KAUPA's monthly 2nd Saturday for Sustainability stream clean-up is your chance to demonstrate your aloha for the aina. KAUPA (Kalihi Ahupua'a Ulu Pono Ahahui) is dedicated to restoring the natural and cultural resources within the Kalihi ahupua'a through education, outreach and action. Guest speakers will share their expertise.

Pesticides and the protection of our groundwater
Pesticide education classes will be offered on Oahu on May 6 and 8, 2008. Classes are two hours long and qualify for recertification credits from the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. They focus on practices that help protect groundwater resources from contamination and comply with federal and local regulations.

Ecology, Restoration, and Management of Hawaiian Stream and Riparian Systems Workshop
A workshop on the ecology, management, and restoration of Hawaiian stream and riparian ecosystems is being sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center on 20-22 May 2008, at the Windward Community College, Oahu. 2008 Hawaii Conservation Conference (HCC) call for abstracts
The annual Hawaii Conservation Conference, presented by the Hawaii Conservation Alliance, is the largest gathering of people actively involved in the protection and management of the natural environment in Hawaii and the Pacific Region. The 2008 HCC will be held August 29 to 31 in Honolulu. The conference theme is Island Ecosystems: The Year of the Reef. Abstracts are due March 28, 2008.

Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) 2009 grant proposals solicited
