Habit: vine
Description: "Herbaceous vines. Leaves with blades 1.5-5 cm long, 4-9 cm wide, 2-lobed, venation conspicuously reticulate, glabrous, with orbicular laminar nectaries ca. 1 mm in diameter between main veins on lower surface, stipules setaceous, 3-8 mm long, deciduous. Flowers campanulate, 3-4 cm in diameter, peduncles usually paired; hypanthium 0.2-0.4 cm long; sepals and petals bluish white, corona yellow, banded with purple, filamentous, 1-1.5 cm long. Berries purple at maturity, globose, 1-1.5 cm in diameter" (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 1012).
Habitat/ecology: In Hawaii, "introduced as an ornamental, escaping into abandoned lots and sugar cane fields, 135 m" (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 1012).
