Habit:  tree

Description:  "Trees 30-55 m tall, bark white to bluish gray, smooth throughout, or rough and flaky from base of trunk up to 4 m.  Adult leaves alternate, blades discolorous, lanceolate, 9-17 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, apex acuminate, petioles 15-25 mm long.  Flowers 7-11 in axillary, simple umbels, peduncles 4-18 mm long, pedicels 0-3 mm long; buds fusiform to subovoid, 5-7 mm long, 3-4 mm wide; operculum conical.  Fruit cylindrical, campanulate, or subpyriform, 5-8 mm long, 4-7 mm wide, valves 3-4, exserted, out-curved"  (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 958).

Habitat/ecology:  In Hawai‘i, "extensively planted...and regenerating from seed in these areas"  (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 958).

Native range:  New South Wales and Queensland, Australia  (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 958).
