Habit:  herb

Description:  "Fibrous-rooted perennial herbs, ± pubescent with spreading hairs.  Leaves elliptic to obovate, 3-8 cm long, 0.5-2 cm wide, margins entire, denticulate, or serrulate, petioles 1-4 cm long.  Heads solitary on scapes 5-15 (-20) cm long; involucral bracts usually ca. 13, 4-6 mm long; ray florets numerous, rays white, ca. 1 cm long; disk corollas yellow" (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 267).

Habitat/ecology:  In Hawai‘i, "sparingly naturalized in high elevation, mesic areas" (Wagner et al., 1999; p. 267). In New Zealand, "mostly in lawns and pastures especially in wetter areas, also waste places, forest margins and clearings, stream banks, seepages, cultivated land, dunes and tussock grassland" (Webb et al., 1988; p. 182).
